Monticello High School Senior Pictures in Minneapolis with the Incredibly Stylish Jayden
Some seniors walk into their session a little nervous. Jayden walked in ready to have the time of his life. 😀
From the second we started, he was laughing, dancing, throwing ideas around, and fully committed to making the afternoon fun. As a theater kid, he wasn’t afraid to be expressive or try something different—and that confidence shows in every single image.
Honestly… I don’t know if I’ve ever laughed this much during a senior session.
And I think that’s exactly why these photos turned out the way they did.

The secret isn’t confidence… it’s having fun!
A lot of seniors tell me they’re nervous before their session.
They’re worried they’ll feel awkward.
They don’t know how to pose.
They think they aren’t photogenic.
Here’s the funny thing…
Jayden didn’t spend the afternoon trying to look cool.
He spent the afternoon enjoying himself.
When someone shows up willing to laugh, move, trust the process, and not take themselves too seriously (even if they secretly do love themselves a little 😉), the camera notices.
That’s where genuine expressions come from.
That’s where personality comes from.
And that’s what makes senior pictures feel like you instead of just another photoshoot.

One session. Completely different vibes.
One of my favorite things about Jayden’s session was how much variety we created.
We started in the historic area of Mill Ruins Park, where his crisp white outfit paired perfectly with the stone buildings and classic Minneapolis architecture. Those images feel timeless and effortless.
Then we shifted into something completely different.
An oversized streetwear look…
modern reflections…
industrial textures…
a little edge…
It honestly looked like something straight out of a fashion campaign.
Later we slowed things down with one of my favorite outfits of the evening—a relaxed summer look along the Mississippi River at Saint Anthony Main. Bare feet in the water, soft evening light, and the Minneapolis skyline in the background gave us an entirely different feel without ever leaving the city.
By the time we finished, it honestly felt like we’d photographed three completely different sessions.
That’s one of the things I love most about photographing senior pictures in Minneapolis. Within just a few blocks, you can go from historic architecture to modern city streets to quiet riverbanks—all while creating a gallery that never feels repetitive.

Style That Actually Felt Like Jayden
If there’s one word I’d use to describe Jayden’s style…
Intentional.
Every outfit had its own personality.
Classic.
Edgy.
Relaxed.
Fashion-forward.
Instead of trying to fit into one specific look, he embraced all the different sides of who he is—and I think that’s what makes these images so much fun to look through.
Senior pictures don’t have to fit into one box.
Neither should you.

Senior Pictures Should Feel Like You.
Jayden’s session is a perfect reminder that the best senior photos aren’t about copying someone else’s Pinterest board or trying to act like someone you’re not.
They’re about showing up as yourself.
Whether that means dressing up…
getting in the river…
wearing something bold…
or laughing your way through the entire afternoon…
That’s when the magic happens.

Want to See What a Senior Session Is Actually Like?
The finished photos are only half the story.
Before we ever stepped into Minneapolis, Jayden started his day at the studio with men’s finishing with our very own makeup artist, Amanda. From there, we spent the afternoon exploring the city, changing outfits, chasing great light, and laughing… a lot.
Those in-between moments are a huge part of what makes our senior sessions feel different. They help you relax, forget there’s a camera in front of you, and end up with photos that actually look like you.
If you’re curious what an Adam Hommerding Photography senior session feels like beyond the finished images, I shared a behind-the-scenes reel from Jayden’s session on Instagram. You’ll see everything from Amanda’s finishing touches to the laughs between shots and the moments that brought this gallery to life.
Go check it out—and if Jayden’s session feels like the kind of experience you’d love for your own senior pictures, I’d love to chat.
