Cathedral High School senior Jack brought St. Cloud style to the Minneapolis skyline
One of the reasons we love downtown Minneapolis for senior pictures is how much variety we can create in just a few city blocks.
For Jack’s senior session, every location was within about five miles — but when you flip through his images, it feels like we covered so much more. We started with a more casual look at Boom Island Park, moved into the North Loop for glass walls, historic brick, and urban textures, added soccer photos in city alleyways, and wrapped with his Maserati and the Minneapolis skyline on top of a parking ramp.
Nature, city, sports, skyline, and a whole lot of fun. Not a bad combo.
Why Minneapolis works so well for senior guy photos
For senior guys especially, keeping the session moving can make the whole experience feel a lot more natural. Instead of staying in one spot too long, we’re able to move through different location options and create a mix of images that feel relaxed, polished, and personal.
Downtown Minneapolis gives us so many different looks close together: greenery, river views, modern glass, historic brick, clean walls, alleyways, parking ramps, and skyline views. That means we can create a senior session with a lot of personality without spending the whole time driving around town.
And honestly, nobody wants their senior portrait experience to feel like a road trip with outfit changes.
Jack’s downtown Minneapolis senior session
Jack’s session had such a great mix of styles. His casual photos at Boom Island Park gave the session a relaxed start, while the North Loop added that modern city feel with glass, brick, and sidewalks.
We also worked soccer into the session, but instead of going the expected soccer field route, we photographed those images in urban alleyways. It gave them a more stylish, editorial feel while still showcasing something personal to him.
Then we finished with a dressed-up look, his car, and the Minneapolis skyline — because sometimes the ending needs a little drama.
