Fall Extended Family Photos in St.Cloud Minnesota
There’s something incredibly special about getting the whole family together for updated family photos. Especially when those family photos are to celebrate 50 years of marriage. Amanda and I had the honor of photographing an extended family session for Mike & Barb at their beautiful home in St. Cloud, MN and it turned into an evening none of us will forget.
What started as a normal fall session quickly became something much bigger. Their children and grandchildren gathered together for family photos in the warm Minnesota fall colors, celebrating the incredible legacy Mike & Barb have built over the last five decades. From candid moments with the grandkids to full extended family portraits, every part of the evening felt meaningful and full of love.
But the biggest surprise came at the very end of the session.
Their family planned a heartfelt surprise vow renewal ceremony right in their backyard just as we finished their session, complete with Barb’s original wedding veil and recreated wedding flowers from St. Cloud Floral and a catered meal from from KREWE Restaurant to celebrate together.
As a photographer, sessions like this are a reminder that family photos are about so much more than pictures. They preserve stories, milestones, and the people who matter most. Fall photos in Minnesota always have a certain magic, but this extended family session was truly unforgettable.
